It was another typical whiplash spring in Kansas…70 degrees on Monday, our first truly glorious sign of the season’s change, charcoal smoke in every backyard. Tuesday we had sleet, rain, thunder, horizontal winds, and three separate hail storms with freezing temps all night, preserving the evidence till evening the following day. I always complain when this sort of things happens, I adapt a little too easily to the sunny good news, taking it for granted as how things “should” be. Then I end up resenting life’s little inconveniences – taking it personally as if the weather was baiting me on purpose.

How can we be more flexible with our expectations, and begin to accept what is, as it is, more readily?
